The Blue Stars held their final Indoor Sprint meeting in The Tube at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre at Horsham, West Sussex on Thursday, February 22nd.

Having held these meetings for 30 years, the closing of the current Leisure Centre, due in October, and its demolition, including the majority of the Indoor Athletics facility means that these popular sprint evenings will no longer take place.

Keith May, Chairman of the Club, and the meeting organiser for all of the thirty years, said, "it was a sad evening and the end of an era".

Since their inception when 'The Tube’ was built, over 5000 athletes have benefitted from local, indoor, high quality competition during the winter months, including many internationals as well as scores of youngsters who have gone on to develop into top class athletes.

The final race over the 50m was won by a Blue Star athlete, Alex Wadley.
