Christmas Message from the President

As we approach the end of the year it is time to look back at 2017 and forward to 2018.

My impression has been that 2017 was a particularly good year for Sussex Athletics with a number of successes for individuals and teams at International, National and Inter-counties events across the age groups from Under 13 to Masters.

There has also been recognition of services to athletics in the County by England Athletics for starter Tony Roberts and the election to County Vice President of Mandy Collison and Maureen Stephens.

A number of new faces, alongside experienced campaigners, has ensured that all our County events have taken place successfully and the new Constitution and Committee format is working well. 2018 is bound to bring new challenges and we will face these head on to ensure that all our athletes, coaches and officials can continue to enjoy this great sport of athletics.

As you celebrate Christmas and the New Year please spare a thought for those in our athletics community who are unwell or battling illness.

Yours in Sport,

Roland Garrad

President, Sussex AA
